The system and other organizations are pleading for the Church to take up the cross where their programs have ended. We who are the over-comers of bad habits, addictions, and demonic oppression need to step up and go beyond the recovery and rehabilitation programs to after-care using the regeneration concept.
The Criminal Justice System, Rehabilitation Programs, and Treatment Facilities have asked for our assistance in reducing the relapse and recidivism rate. After their clients complete their programs successfully, they need us to do the follow-up by providing Mentors trained to use Biblical counsel. These organizations have agreed to meet the requirements of matching our strengths with the needs of the clients we choose. We build on whatever positive feed the system has provided and meet the needs beyond rehabilitation, recovery to regeneration.
We were commanded by the Master to invite as many people as possible to the feast. We went out and invited those whom were comfortable in their belief system and they responded with many excuses and only a few join His remnant Church. By his grace, the Master sent us back out and we invited those who professed to know Him, but showed no sign of a relationship with Him, and a few more came. The Master was not satisfied with the quantity of guest so He sent us out a third time, this time, to the group called the least of the brothering. This time the Master will be pleased with the quantity because He alone knows the quality and promised His Word will not return unto Him void.
What is the Onesimus Ministries? The Onesimus Ministries Project is a North American 501 C3 nonprofit organization, members of "Thexoffender Network" providing Training, Mentorship, and Monitoring, franchised from state to state. As for Training we empower the local Church with “the NEWSTART 3 Step Regeneration Therapeutic Concept” and develop into agencies to best serve the community.
We provide Mentors to the Care-giving Organization and their clients where as they have completed what the secular organization has provided (drug treatment, anger management, life-skills ect…). We then build on the Rehabilitation and Recovery platform, the Regeneration principles, which is faith based, using the many Biblical tools provided.
The Monitoring service is a real need of the organizations we serve; they need data as to the success of the services they provide, and the After-care outsourcing expenditures, it is our natural recourse to do the follow-up. The Care-giver directories of every state already exist. The major need to reduce relapse and recidivism has been identified. Defeat in the war of overcoming negative life-style is all but declared. The next logical move is to step up with what we do so well, physical, mental, social and spiritual health reform. Teach them, then baptize them, in the name of the Father, Son, and Spirit of God.
There is no known organization on earth better prepared to meet this need than us. We know that all of the things happening in our communities is for our good, because we love God and is called out for His purpose, and to us whom much has been given, much is and will be required. Jesus said, The works that He did we shall do also, even to a greater degree, because His gifts has been shared in his anointed.
The NEWSTART[3] Step Program was inspired while the developer was in a rehabilitation program in New York City, in 1974, for 18 months in drug abuse treatment. Since 1982, to the present, it has been the developer' privilege to work with United Prison Ministries International serving as Chaplain. This organization has provided the opportunity for travel extensively to further study the concepts and treatment programs of numerous rehabilitation facilities in and out side of the prison systems.
Inspired from the book Philemon; The letter Paul wrote to the leadership of the church on behalf of theXoffender Onesimus. The founder of theXoffender Network has the back ground of Onesimus. Tony Hall is much like Paul, an effective prison ministry worker for many years. And like Philemon, in church leadership for many years and the possessor of resources to meet needs. | The Project is in 3 stages The first stage; is an ongoing life-style training using the NEWSTART Regeneration 3 Step Life-style Concept, in conjunction with the Programs in place. It starts in the Prison institutions with training the Prison officials mainly the chaplains, counselors, ministry volunteers those preparing the offenders for release to the community. A strict assessment tool will be used to select those who qualify for the training inside and the follow-up outside. The Preparation and Assessment: Chapel Services | The chaplain, religious coordinator, and volunteer ministries, will make referrals to the re-entry training in inside. | Occupational and Vocational Opportunity | The inmates who have taken every advantage of opportunities to develop employable skills will be considered candidates for the re-entry training. | Substance Abuse Programs | Those who have successfully completed the available programs and demonstrated a positive life-style change will be considered for the re-entry program. |
The second stage; is providing the same training in the Church, Aftercare Providers and Re-entry Organizations. From this resource we develop mentors to receive thexoffender upon release with the references of the aforementioned trained mentors. Resources and committment fit the congregations and organizations: Level One | Develop a directory of informed caregivers of the local congregation, build on the strengths' and meet the needs of the volunteer mentors. Then assess the needs of thexoffender, some possible needs (applying for SS Cards, Drivers Licenses, legal appointments and transportation to fellowship meetings etc.). |
Level Two | Including all of the above, develop a team of mentors to assess the needs and strengths' of thexoffender. Develop a directory of the directories throughout your area, making the necessary personal contacts. Identity your congregation as a referral agent and list your services. Using all of this information to support the decision of thexoffender. Some examples of additional needs met, (Jobs, housing, family reconciliation, further education etc.) |
Level Three | Included is level one and two, added we develop non-profit corporations or faith base initiatives. At this level there is no limit to the services rendered plus being a part of "Thexoffender Network". This gives unlimited resources and opportunity to grow. This information is to be further developed with your input. The basic foundation of this work is developed under the "Ministries to the Community", we help to take it to the next level. |
The third stage; is the support of the mentors on the outside providing references to the community and counseling for the families for the purpose of gaining opportunities for the welfare of the thexoffender. In each phase we have strength meeting needs and strength building on strength. Thexoffender makes a decision to overcome a negative life-style and replace it with a positive one. Thexoffender (Christian Mentors) who respect the Word of God plus see his fellow man equal to himself renders support for the decision made by the released offenders. Meeting the Needs and Building on the Strengths: The Employer | The benefit of employing thexoffender is the support group continuous education, substance abuse monitoring, and high work ethics standards. This service will be extended to any the employer deem necessary and much more. | | The Mentors | This group has developed relationships with the ones they mentor before release, then become their reference. Their reputation is on the line and their support and resources are backed by the whole network of mentors. The mentors are held to a high standard and a continually educated to meet needs and build on strengths. | | Basic Living Necessities | Joint venture with housing managers, and other welfare agencies, will be developed to meet emergency and short term assistances. Every attempt will be made to give a fair startup opportunity to all of our clients to established a stable wholesome living environment. |
